What’s happening in 2010 and beyond
In 2010 we have a number of key events planned and many, many more activities going on. Some of the high lights for 2010 to look forward include:-

19th Jan – Adults in Scouting (Evening meeting). This will include a talk on Safe-guarding and ensuring we are following the associations policies, it’s a key update for all leaders and helpers no matter how long you have been Scouting. We will also re-launch the District Development plan, which has recently been updated, update about other activities around the District, and information on the next phases of the Glenny Wood development. A key date and we look forward to seeing you there.

7th February – District orienteering Event – This will be run in conjunction with the local Orienteering club.

13th February - District Skills Development Day – this will be held at Glenny Wood and give ALL leaders and helpers to opportunities to learn new skills. Please let Kath W know of any specific skills training you would like to see included.

26th February - District Social Event –, run by Fellowship

20th / 21st March – Explorers Rickard Shield Event – Will we retain the trophy?

25th April – Dragon Slayer celebrations – To include the Parade, Service and a series of exciting activities based on the following themed areas:- Sports, Emergency Services Display, Craft, Scouting Skills and inflatable’s

8th / 9th May – Ten Tors – The event

12th June – Beaver and Cub Cooking Competition – We look forward for a gastronomic feast!

13th June – Scout and Explorer Cooking Competition – Will Sunday’s cooking extravaganza out shine Saturdays?

10th / 11th July – District Water activities Weekend – Come and try for the first time, receive some instruction. Skilled / competent then join in the challenges to be set.
- 4th / 5th September – Gilwell Reunion.
